Winnie Cheche is an eco-blogger, climate activist, conservationist and volunteer to several youth groups.
Through blogging, social media postings, activism, virtual events as well as physical events, she aims to promote Sustainable Living and Wildlife Conservation. Helping more people understand and participate in climate action in the simplest relatable language.
Having grown up on the shores of Lake Nakuru, she witnessed first-hand the effects of poaching on the population of wild animals at the Lake Nakuru National Park. More recently, the swelling of Lake Nakuru has put her parents’ home in danger of being swallowed if the climate continues to change as it is.
Through gardens powered by bucket drip irrigation, she has managed to help two orphan centers have vegetable supply right from their small spaces in their compounds. These gardens not only provide vegetables, but also act as a class for the kids at these orphan centers. By involving them in the whole process of land preparation, setting up of the bucket drip irrigation and planting of seedlings. They get to see how easy it is to produce your own food sustainably. Reducing over reliance on supermarkets and donations for such commodities.

As a communications director at the Kenya Environmental Action Network, she has been involved in social media management for environmental events such as the Climate Live Kisumu Concert 2021, LCOY Kenya 2021, NDC Youth Consultation 2020, and Friday for Future Kenya activities.
She volunteers with Kenya Environmental Action Network, Friday for Future in Kenya, Young Muslims Associations, Blue Earth Organization, among others. These organizations engage in mangrove planting, tree growing, cleanups, activism, webinars, workshops, conferences, etc.
