Ms. Janet Ahatho is the Director, Environment and Natural Resources Management, Marsabit County. She went through Kargi Primary School for her primary education, joined St Teresa’s Wamba for her Secondary School and Kenyatta University for her university education.
An environmentalist both in training and practice, Ms. Ahatho is a registered and an active member of the Environmental Institute of Kenya (EIK) and a Lead Expert in Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Audit (EIA/EA).
Ms. Ahatho has interest in conservation, community engagement and development, and project implementation cycle.
She has participated and oversaw major policies and guidelines developed and implemented at both levels of government. Ms. Ahatho has recently concluded the launch of Marsabit County Climate Change Adaptation policy,climate change Action plan and Climate change fund act in her Directorate where she led a team of technical experts, with the support of her line CECM and Chief Officer, County Government of Marsabit and partners.
Ms. Ahatho continues to direct, manage, consult, partner, play to linkages/collaborations and contribute to knowledge in her area of expertise.
