Mary Mbenge is the chief officer for Natural Resources, Environment and Climate change in Makueni County. She is a work oriented, team manager, hawk eyed on details of building local democracy through devolution by involving local governments and public participation, multi-level governance in sub-national entities (Counties) in climate change adaptation for sustainable and resilient communities. Her aim is to provide team leadership for programs and projects that promote local democracy to improve rural livelihoods, increase their resilience, and reduce vulnerability in the face of climate change, without compromising on environmental integrity. From my schooling both abroad and within I have an international Masters in Landscape Ecology and Nature conservation from Greifswald University Germany. I am currently pursuing a Joint PhD in Integrated Management of Water, Soil & Waste. I also have keen interest in matters sanitation.
