Charles is Regreening Africa Project Manager working with World Vision Kenya since 2017. He is an accomplished researcher, academician, and community development practitioner with a disinguished leadership and management career spanning over 20 years. Over this period, Charles has been actively involved in the implementation and mangement of integrated Food & Nutrition Security, Livelihoods & Rsilience building, Environment & Climate Change, Health & HIV/AIDS Response, Education, Community Empowerment, and Governance & Advocacy programmes that also incorporated peace building and conflict mitigation, gender and disaster preparedness and mitigation; with community and stakeholder involvement for sustainability.

Charles holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Extension (Maseno University, Kenya) and another PhD in Christian Leadership (International Institute of Church Management, Florida-USA), a M.Sc. in Agricultural Extension (Egerton University, Njoro-Kenya), and a B.Sc. in Animal Production (Egerton University, Njoro-Kenya). Charles has taught Secondary Biology, Chemistry and Agriculture for 7 years (1991-1997) as an Untrained Graduate Teacher, and has also taught (on part-time basis) undergraduate students of Egerton, Kenyatta and Maseno universities in the units of Comparative Agricultural Extension Methodologies, Ruminant Animal Production, Rangeland Resources Management, Principles of Animal Production, Rural Sociology, Research Methods, Agricultural Policy and Law, Agricultural Finance, and Risks and Insurance in Agriculture.

He previously worked with World Vision Kenya for 5 years (2005-2010) as Food Security Project Manager, Programme Manager, and Livelihoods & Resilience Officer-Lake Region; before moving to Concern Worldwide Kenya where he also served for another 5 years (2010-2015) as Assistant Programme Manager-Urban Livelihoods & Social Protection and Area Coordinator-Nyanza and Marsabit. Previously, Charles worked with the Department of Livestock Development in the Republic of Kenya for 8 years (1997-2005), where he was Livestock Project Monitoring and Evaluation Officer-Migori District, Officer In Charge-Macalder Sheep & Goat Multiplication Station, and Divisional Extension Coordinator-Mfangano, Suba District.  

Besides, Charles is a strong team player with focused networking, partnrship and coaching skills. He is also an expert in research deisgn, monitoring, data analysis and producing publishable matrtials. He has individually and jointly published a number of research papers and reports, and has 3 books to his sleeve.

Charles is Co-Director of Great Leap Consult Limited; where he is Head of Research and Capacity Building, and has led several consultancy assignments with various firms addressing root causes of poverty, injustice and discrimination in various parts of Kenya.
